Undergraduate Research Assistant
CHEManager International is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented undergraduate or graduate student to join their Material Assessment and Qualification (MatAQ) research group. The successful candidate will work on testing, characterization, and evaluation of high-entropy alloys (HEAs) for accelerator-relevant applications at Fermilab, gaining hands-on experience in materials testing and data analysis.
Responsibilities
Experimental Design & Setup: Experiment design and setup materials for mechanical property tests
Data processing: Run Python-based code for testing data processing
Software Development: Contribute to the development of data processing tools for sensitivity analysis and data processing
Documentation & Reporting: Prepare technical reports summarizing results, methods, and progress
Dissemination of Results: Support the preparation of posters and presentations, with opportunities to present findings at national conferences
Qualification
Required
Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Strong interest in experimental methods, numerical modeling, and/or software development
Basic proficiency in programming (Python, MATLAB, or similar) preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
