Electrical Engineering Manager

The Electrical Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and managing a team of engineers in the design and integration of electrical systems for hybrid-electric propulsion, ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet safety and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of electrical and power systems engineers, fostering technical excellence, professional growth, and accountability
Oversee the design and integration of power distribution networks for hybrid‑electric propulsion platforms
Guide development of power electronics to support motor/generator and inverter systems
Ensure robust motor/generator interfaces that meet performance and reliability requirements
Direct design and validation of inverter controls and aircraft electrical interfaces for seamless system integration
Ensure all designs meet performance, safety, redundancy, and fault‑tolerance requirements for aviation systems
Review and approve schematics, wiring diagrams, PCB layouts, and system integration deliverables in compliance with aerospace standards
Drive certification and compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to FAA standards (DO‑178C, DO‑254, DO‑160G) and military airworthiness requirements
Champion rigorous configuration control and documentation practices using PLM systems
Lead system testing and validation campaigns, coordinating internal teams and external partners to verify electrical system performance and safety
Act as a technical liaison with suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies, representing VerdeGo Aero’s commitment to innovation and reliability
Promote continuous improvement in engineering processes, tools, and methods to enhance efficiency, reliability, and certification readiness
Drive project planning, resource allocation, and milestone tracking, ensuring programs are delivered on time and within budget
Encourage a culture of innovation, safety, and adaptability, aligning the team’s work with VerdeGo Aero’s mission to advance hybrid‑electric flight
Qualification
Required
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
10+ years of professional experience in electrical engineering for aerospace and automotive, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or management role
Proven expertise in electrical system design and integration, including power distribution networks, power electronics, motor/generator interfaces, and inverter controls
Experience in redundancy, fault tolerance, and safety‑critical architectures for aviation, automotive, or defense systems
Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams, review and approve technical deliverables, and ensure compliance with industry standards
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills, with the ability to bridge technical detail and program execution
Track record of delivering complex electrical projects on time and within budget
Preferred
Direct experience with hybrid‑electric propulsion systems, including integration of electrical subsystems with mechanical and propulsion systems
Familiarity with battery management systems, thermal management solutions, and high‑speed switching power electronics for electrified platforms
Background in systems engineering and multidisciplinary integration, with proven ability to collaborate across mechanical, propulsion, and software engineering teams
Knowledge of PLM systems and project management tools for configuration control and resource planning
Experience with FAA certification processes and military airworthiness standards, including MOSA (Modular Open Systems Architecture)
Exposure to digital data buses (Ethernet, CAN, ARINC) and real‑time operating systems for embedded applications
Familiarity with engine FADEC development and integration into hybrid propulsion architectures
Ability to build and scale engineering teams in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment, fostering innovation and technical excellence
