Aerospace

Responsibilities

Recognizes and understands flight/product safety critical parts and processes
Responsible for immediately reporting flight/product safety concerns
Participates in proactive risk analysis of flight/product safety critical parts and processes
Develops and implements meaningful and lasting corrective/preventative actions alongside Operations Leaders and Production Engineers
Provides Engineering support to Operations and Productions teams to solve Quality-impacting non-conforming products or processes
Maintains a safe work environment through compliance with all established safety and environmental programs
Analyze defect data and establish trend charts for review by management
Works alongside Production Cells in Root-Cause and Corrective Action analysis for damaged parts, warranty reviews, and other process non-conformances
Conducts studies to stabilize or improve process capabilities and efficiencies
Performs special process and critical product audits to ensure conformance to all internal and external requirements. Audits new processes to evaluate precision and accuracy of production, testing, & measurement equipment
Analyzes and summarizes compiled data from test and inspection reports. Generates statistical reports identifying quality concerns for submission to various levels of management for review and corrective action
Applies quality methodology and solves quality problems with engineering staff
Monitors assigned projects for work in progress to ensure that quality and regulatory standards are met and that project designs are effective through the entire process; approves changes to designs or schedules as necessary
Provides, on an as required basis, technical advice with respect to quality system criteria, airworthiness and regulatory requirements
Carries out special projects as assigned

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or other related Engineering field. Or Associate's Degree with 3-5 years of Quality Engineering experience
Strategic planner with strong time management and leadership ability
Effective communicator in both verbal and technical writing
Thorough knowledge of quality analytical tools and problem-solving methodology
Able to problem solve, process information quickly, challenge current processes and take initiatives towards improvement
Works well in a collaborative team-based environment
Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints or technical figures
Working knowledge of production management computer systems
Must be authorized to work in the U.S

Preferred

Experience in an MRO or other aerospace industry
Experience in Quality Management Systems in the MRO/aviation industry
Thorough knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to maintenance and certification for products processed by the organization
Thorough knowledge of gas turbine engine theory and performance
Thorough knowledge of NADCAP, AS9100, AS9110, and/or ISO9001
Thorough knowledge of First Article Inspections/AS9102
