Mission Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

Work with the customer, users, and engineers to effectively analyze user requirements, user stories, and operations concepts
Perform high level requirement assessments and facilitate the detailed assessments performed by the MSOC technical organizations
Develop and maintain schedules for work components
Create and/or update all documentation for design and change instruments
Perform post data processing, post data reduction, and data mining
Perform analysis, assessments, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
Provide Systems Engineering support to the MSOC implementation organizations
Communicate inward to the MSOC organization and outward to customer contacts
Work effectively in a team setting to collaborate ideas
Negotiate with and coordinate activities of vendors who supply FMS products and services
Support the infusion of new technologies and products in Facility Management Systems

Required

Requires BS in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or similar technical degree plus 0 – 10 years of related experience
The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and professionally represent the MSOC organization
Highly motivated individual willing to learn and apply new concepts, tools, and software
Good verbal and written communication skills, especially with other organizations
Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work effectively in a team setting
Experience across various areas of the systems engineering lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, and documentation
Understanding of human spaceflight requirements
Leadership skills
Knowledge of the Mission Control Center sub-systems
Experience with ServiceNow feature sets that are used in MSOC facilities, including Activity Management
Experience with ServiceNow feature sets that are used by MSOC personnel for change management and incident report management
Experience with agile development practices using Agility
Experience with IT Asset Management (ITAM)
Knowledge of IT systems (hardware, software, networks), applications and the people who use them
