Career Development Specialist
Episcopal Community Services (ECS) is dedicated to empowering communities and challenging poverty. The Career Development Specialist will provide customized coaching and support to program participants working towards economic self-sufficiency, while also facilitating workshops and engaging with partner organizations to enhance career development opportunities.

Responsibilities
Provide ongoing, customized one-on-one coaching and guidance to MindSet program, other program participants and Community members in the areas of employment, careers and education
Participate in the development and facilitation of education and career workshops that both educate and inform participants about education and training opportunities, work readiness, and career planning
Facilitate and document participant progress through the administration of all relevant tools, including but not limited to the Career Development Plan and AI Coach
Steward strategic partner organizations into the ECS’ St. Barnabas Community Resource Center to administer their programs to the benefit of ECS participants and local community members
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with education and employment organizations and other stakeholders who can provide expertise to support career development planning for participants
Engage in education and advocacy efforts with ECS stakeholders to further advocacy goals in alignment with the mission
Work as a team member in support of participant success
Qualification
Required
Commitment to ECS' mission and values with a passion for working with families with low incomes
Minimum of 2-4 years professional experience in career counseling or career coaching
Experience operating within the local workforce development and adult education system
Familiarity with advocacy issues relating to employing returning citizens and other marginalized populations
Openness to and respect for others' cultures, identities, and lived experiences
Demonstrated ability to create a dynamic learning environment in-person, virtually or hybrid that supports participants skill building
Demonstrated ability to establish and build strong, trusting partnerships with participants and partners
Detail-oriented with the ability to complete work accurately and efficiently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to explain complex information in plain language
Adept at comprehensive and timely data entry (CaseWorthy) for program analysis & program quality
Demonstrated knowledge of community-based resources in the greater Philadelphia area
Ability to travel and self-navigate throughout Philadelphia to provide services and attend meetings
Ability to maintain confidentiality with participant information in accordance with established ECS Confidentiality Practices
High level of flexibility/adaptability, including ability to adjust schedule to meet participant needs
Proficient computer skills (including Microsoft Office, Zoom and Teams)
Preferred
Prior experience working with low and moderate income families and communities
Bachelor's degree in related field- Public Health, Education, Social Work, Human Resources or Psychology
