Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and maintain automation and equipment change control documentation in accordance with GMP and internal procedures
Accurately document all changes to PLC, HMI, SCADA, and equipment software
Develop, execute, and document automation and equipment testing protocols
Ensure systems meet defined functional, regulatory, and compliance requirements
Troubleshoot and resolve automation, equipment, and testing issues to support manufacturing operations
Maintain documentation related to automation systems and operational maintenance
Read, write, and modify PLC ladder logic
Configure, install, and support PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems , including:
Allen-Bradley / Rockwell (RSLogix, FactoryTalk ME/SE, RSLinx)
Ignition SCADA
Siemens PLCs (TIA Portal, WinCC – preferred)
Develop Python scripts or similar tools to support automation, data handling, and system integration
Configure and manage OPC servers (e.g., Kepware)
Support industrial network configurations , including TCP/IP addressing and port management
Assist with Windows Server setup, configuration, and maintenance related to automation systems
Qualification
Required
Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley) – Required
Ignition SCADA – Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
3+ years of automation engineering experience in pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing environments
Strong hands-on experience with PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems
Working knowledge of GMP, GAMP 5, and SDLC principles
Proficiency in Python and industrial communication protocols such as OPC
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and Windows-based systems
Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
