Responsibilities

Serve as the Marine Corps Family Team Building (MCFTB) Director within Marine and Family Programs, Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) with staff cognizance over MCFTB functions, including: Readiness and Deployment Support Training; Family Readiness Program Training; Lifestyle Insights, Networking, Knowledge, and Skills, (L.I.N.K.S.) training; LifeSkills training and education; Chaplains Religious Enrichment Development Operation (CREDO); and Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program (PREP)
Oversee administration, management, coordination, development, and execution of all MCFTB services
Reports to the MCCS Director or designated representative
Serve as primary point of contact and advisor to higher-level management on the operation, evaluation and improvement of functional effectiveness, productivity and efficiency of MCFTB activities
Serve as the Accounting Officer (AO) and is responsible for all purchasing requirements for MCFTB
Serve as the liaison between commanders, Deployment Readiness Coordinators (DRC), Uniformed Readiness Coordinators (URC), and other Marine and Family Programs
MCCS divisions for all MCFTB functions to ensure training provided by MCFTB comply with the Unit, Personal and Family Readiness Program (UPFRP) and MCFTB policy
Ensures compliance with the Volunteer Management Program policy if the Installation Volunteer Coordinator falls under MCITB
Serve as the subject matter expert in all aspects related to training under the MCFTBs portfolio of training and educational opportunities
Conduct quality assurance checks on all trainers to ensure trainers are effective, professional, and meet the established Marine Corps standards of training
May coordinate and/or conduct training within MCFTB
Actively promote MCFTB through marketing, installation community outreach, and collaboration with other constituents on the installation to ensure MCFTB continues to meet the needs of Marines, Sailors, Families, and command teams
Provide feedback to Headquarters Marine Corps (HQMC), MCITB for needs assessments and to establish goals for the program in concurrence with the specific needs of the installation
Make improvements, solve problems, and take corrective action when problems arise
Communicate and recommend new approaches designed to make desirable changes in program administration and operation based on personal knowledge of the specialized area and personal evaluation of pending needs, trends and resources on the installation with HQMC, MCFTB
Prepare and manage the MCFTB appropriated and non-appropriated funds operating budgets
Maintain and enforce security of funds, supplies, equipment, and information to preclude or minimize the potential for fraud, waste, and abuse
Determine equipment and property requirements
Manage new property resources and provide advice on renovations and improvements
Supervise NF3 and NF4 trainers, administrative staff within MCFTB and L.I.N.K.S. Volunteers

Required

BACHELOR'S DEGREE from an accredited college or university in a related field appropriate to the work of position AND FOUR YEARS of experience in the occupation, or a related field or work area, OR an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skills equivalent to that gained in the above, OR appropriate experience that demonstrates that the applicant has acquired the knowledge, skills, and abilities equivalent to that gained in the above
Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule to include weekend and nighttime family briefs programs
Must be able to travel to support MCTFB functions
Professional knowledge to evaluate military life conditions impacting personal and family readiness of Marines and their families and support systems existing in public and private sectors
Excellent organizational and communication skills (oral and written)
Knowledge of military structure and protocol; executive management and leadership skills at a level to effectively plan, coordinate and direct MCFTB services and operations; a thorough knowledge of business practices, economic principles and ability to analyze trends and make improvements
Knowledge of military life, family dynamics, separation, effects of deployments, and ability to assess needs, measure effectiveness and make improvements
Skills to deal effectively with social, family and individual problem situations
Ability to deal effectively with superiors, subordinates, vendors, and the public
Must be able to give briefs in various settings to senior leadership and a variety of audiences
Skill to supervise employees in the accomplishment of work
Must be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries and State Criminal History Repository Check (CNACI) background checks which are required for positions that involve working with children under the age of 18
