Responsibilities
Build and deploy multimodal perception systems using deep learning and traditional computer vision / signal processing methods
Train and evaluate models on real datasets and support integration onto robot hardware
Improve model performance, robustness, and runtime efficiency
Iterate quickly with strong engineering practices (clean code, reproducible experiments)
Work closely with roboticists, software engineers, and designers to turn cutting-edge research into a robust, production-ready perception pipeline
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a Master's or Ph.D. in Robotics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related technical field
Authorized to work in the US (citizen or already has visa/work authorization)
Able to start ASAP (by February)
Prior experience developing perception models (e.g., implemented/applied on a robot and/or real dataset)
Strong deep learning background
Strong programming skills in Python and C++
Hands-on mindset: you enjoy building, debugging, and making things work end-to-end
Comfortable with rapid iteration in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
Prior experience in HRI, robotics, or embodied AI
Prior research experience, with publications or submissions in top venues (e.g., ICML, NeurIPS, ICRA, IROS, HRI, RSS, CVPR, CHI)
Familiarity with low-resource / compute-constrained systems
Familiarity with VLMs and LLMs
