Staff Process Engineer
Corning Incorporated is seeking a Staff Process Engineer to impact the corporation by applying manufacturing process knowledge and disciplined problem-solving methods. The role involves designing and improving processes, managing project timelines and costs, and implementing process control systems across various projects within the corporation.

Responsibilities
We own the design and development of new processes or improvement to existing processes at Corning facilities worldwide
You will solve problems and improve processes based on fundamental understanding and structured problem-solving methods as defined by Corning PeX team, such as KT, Designed Experimentation, and Six Sigma
You will also lead the implementation of Process Control and Process Discipline systems into manufacturing operations as well as use your analytical skills to analyze process data using statistical tools (e.g. pareto, regression, time charting, analysis of variance, gauge R&R, etc.)
Other responsibilities include measuring and communicating performance against established objectives, reviewing and interpreting data to make recommendations on immediate actions, long term corrective actions, follow-up experiments, etc., and documenting processes and mentoring operators and peers on defined processes
Qualification
Required
BS or MS in engineering along with 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated use of scientific method and engineering principles to solve problems thoroughly and effectively, using well-designed and executed processes and experiment plans
Ability to determine and recommend best solution from a series of alternatives within plant guidelines
Strong data analysis and statistical skills; Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Minitab, or equivalent
Basic process capability / run charting and trend charting experience
Must be available for significant travel, primarily domestic, to multiple locations to support business needs. International travel could be required as well. (Temporary relocations to support long term project can also be part of the job)
