Responsibilities
Design and develop scalable, high-performance database solutions
Build and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and views
Define indexing strategies and data models for performance and reliability
Lead Oracle → PostgreSQL migrations using AWS DMS, Ora2PG , or custom scripts
Perform data mapping, conversion, reconciliation, and validation
Develop and execute migration plans ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime
Develop and optimize Databricks jobs for data processing and reporting
Use Python and PySpark for ETL pipelines and data transformations
Support analytics and reporting needs with performant data pipelines
Perform query optimization and database performance tuning
Troubleshoot production performance issues across Oracle and PostgreSQL
Implement caching, indexing, and optimization strategies
Monitor database health and proactively implement improvements
Automate routine database tasks using scripts and procedures
Provide limited DBA support (~20%) for SQL Server and Oracle
Qualification
Required
12+ years of experience in Oracle, SQL, and PL/SQL development
Proven experience with Oracle to PostgreSQL migration
Strong expertise in PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server
Hands-on experience with AWS DMS and/or Ora2PG
Advanced skills in performance tuning and query optimization
Strong experience with Databricks and PySpark
Solid understanding of RDBMS architecture and database design
Preferred
~20% DBA experience (SQL Server preferred)
Exposure to Oracle DBA activities
Experience working in AWS cloud environments
Familiarity with workflow orchestration and job scheduling tools
