Responsibilities
Maintain and clearly communicate a prioritized product backlog in Target Process, ensuring alignment with Product Managers, Release Trains, and strategic business objectives
Write, refine, and accept user stories, features, and epics; ensure conceptual and technical integrity across backlog items
Leverage Target Process features (business value scoring, prioritization fields, hierarchy linking, dashboards) to refine and prioritize work effectively
Ensure all work—especially Salesforce Net Zero Cloud and ZWTL features—are properly documented, estimated, and aligned to business outcomes
Serve as the Product Owner for Salesforce enhancements, integrations, and net-new functionality, with emphasis on:
Salesforce Net Zero Cloud
Zero Waste to Landfill (ZWTL)
Collaborate closely with Salesforce architects, admins, developers, and QA testers
Translate sustainability and compliance requirements into clearly defined Salesforce user stories and acceptance criteria
Validate that delivered configurations, data models, automations, and reporting meet business and regulatory requirements
Partner with the Scrum Master and Agile team during Sprint Planning to clarify intent, priorities, and acceptance criteria
Participate in Daily Standups to confirm unimpeded progress and ensure alignment toward sprint goals
Lead story refinement sessions, facilitating focused discussion and capturing decisions and updates directly in Target Process
Actively manage dependencies, risks, and story flow for both Salesforce and non-Salesforce workstreams
Collaborate with Product Management to understand and execute the product roadmap, including sustainability and environmental compliance initiatives
Document current system workflows and capabilities
Engage stakeholders across business, engineering, sustainability, reporting/analytics, QA, and external vendors as needed
Ensure smooth handoff of epics, features, and documentation among cross-functional groups, leveraging Target Process as the central source of truth
Maintain accurate, real-time updates of features, stories, tasks, and decisions directly in Target Process
Use tool capabilities for prioritization, reporting, dependency tracking, notifications, and capacity‑related planning
Drive best practices for backlog hygiene, definition of ready/done, and streamlined workflows in Target Process
Write clear acceptance criteria and validate completed stories through testing, demos, and UAT cycles
Ensure all solutions meet functional, technical, and user-experience expectations
Prioritize and manage defects and enhancements to maintain long-term product health
Qualification
Required
5+ years of total professional experience, including recent hands-on experience as a Product Owner
Demonstrated Product Owner experience with Salesforce, ideally including Salesforce Net Zero Cloud
Zero Waste to Landfill (ZWTL) or similar sustainability modules
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe preferred)
Hands-on experience with Target Process or comparable enterprise Agile lifecycle tools
Ability to translate business needs into actionable user stories with clear acceptance criteria
Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills
Preferred
Experience working with environmental, sustainability, or ESG initiatives
Understanding of scoring frameworks such as WSJF or business value scoring
Experience coordinating work across multiple Agile teams or portfolios
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in complex data or platform ecosystems
