Amyx, Inc. is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee all aspects of its accounting operations. The controller will be managing a team of 5, and report directly to the Chief Financial Officer at Headquarters in Reston, VA.

Responsibilities

Oversee all operations of the accounting department to include monthly close, Accounts Payable, Billing, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Account and Bank Reconciliation and Financial Statement Preparation and Analysis
Coordinate activities of internal/external auditors. Assist in preparation of audit schedules and work closely with the auditors to ensure the completion of a timely audit
Oversee regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance to include Incurred Cost Submission and annual Provisional Indirect Rate submission to DCAA
Lead and manage the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to all critical deadlines
Support quarterly and mid-year forecasting, budgeting, cash flow management, and financial planning activities including preparation of the Annual Operating Plan
Oversee indirect rate structures (Fringe, Overhead, G&A, Service Centers, etc.), annual rate development, and variance analysis
Interact with various internal and external customers daily and assist on special projects or contracts as directed
Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures
Manage the preparation of payroll via ADP and Costpoint for personnel
Responsible for Maintenance of Deltek Costpoint system, including new project setups and billing module as well as Deltek Timecollection
Responsible for weekly cash reporting
Use Microsoft Office applications—particularly Excel—to develop automated workflows, templates, and reports that streamline financial analysis and management reporting
Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across finance, operations, contracts, and executive leadership
Other Duties as assigned

Required

Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation, preferred
Minimum 5 years of progressive, experience in a government contracting entity
Prior experience with DCAA audits and Incurred Cost Submissions
Working knowledge of GAAP, FAR and CAS
Thorough knowledge of accounting and finance principles including monthly reconciliation and reporting
Knowledgeable with state and federal tax
Familiarity with government billing (Fixed Price, T&M, CPAF, CPFF contracts) including WAWF experience
Strong computer skills including advanced Excel skills
Experience with Deltek Costpoint Accounting Software
Payroll processing experience (ADP utilized)
Strong leadership, organizational, problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

Preferred

5 years of supervisory experience
5 years of accounting experience
