Public Knowledge is a nonprofit technology policy organization that promotes freedom of expression and access to affordable communications tools. They are seeking legal advocacy interns from North Carolina Central University School of Law for Summer 2026 to engage in the policy making process and assist in various advocacy efforts.

Responsibilities

Participate in all aspects of our work related to technology policy advocacy
Engage with the U.S. Congress, the executive branch, and administrative agencies
Assist in filing administrative comments, submitting amicus briefs, and hosting public education events

Required

Applicants must be current NCCU Law students
Applicants must have a strong interest in the policy making process -- the U.S. Congress, the executive branch, and agencies such as the FCC
Applicants should have a demonstrated interest in public interest (non-profit) technology policy, including issues arising under internet, telecommunications, copyright, patent, privacy, and international law
Internships must begin no earlier than May 18 and conclude by July 31

Preferred

In-person is preferred but remote can be accommodated
