Responsibilities

Oversee and direct the development of tailored concept papers, proposals, presentations, and stewardship reports by collaborating with physicians, researchers, administrative leaders, and Development staff to meet the unique needs of transformational-level donors
Craft compelling, strategic narratives that clearly articulate the health system’s philanthropic vision and priorities, inspiring significant donor contributions and transformational gifts
Lead the creation and refinement of high-level talking points and correspondence for the President/CEO, Senior Leadership, Chair of the Board, and other key institutional figures, ensuring alignment with donor interests at prospect meetings and special events
Direct the planning and execution of transformational giving initiatives, ensuring all communications are strategically aligned with the organization’s mission and effectively demonstrate the impact of gifts at this level
Build and sustain robust working relationships with internal teams to integrate critical data, financial insights, and program details into sophisticated, donor-focused communications
Develop and nurture relationships at all levels of the organization and with external partners to create a cohesive strategy that supports and enhances donor engagement efforts
Monitor and assess the effectiveness of communication strategies and donor proposals, implementing data-driven improvements to better align with evolving philanthropic and organizational priorities
Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team by analyzing market trends, donor behaviors, and competitive landscapes to inform strategic communications and engagement initiatives

Required

Bachelor's degree required
7-9 years related work experience required in preferably in the area of medical and/or science writing
Demonstrated ability to engage and successfully utilize volunteers in achieving fundraising goals
Exceptional writing skills and ability to translate complex medical information for a lay audience
Tact, diplomacy and sensitivity to confidential data and personal information
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Willingness to adjust work schedule as needed to meet the demands of the position
Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications
Ability to make decisions that are guided by precedents, policies and objectives
Ability to address problems that are highly varied, complex and often non-recurring, requiring staff input, innovative, creative, and Lean diagnostic techniques to resolve issues
Ability to set goals and priorities for functional area
Ability to communicate complex information in English effectively in writing to all levels of staff, management and external customers across functional areas
Ability to verbally communicate complex concepts in English and address sensitive situations, resolve conflicts, negotiate, motivate and persuade others
Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of concepts, practices and policies with the ability to use them in complex varied situations
Ability to act as a team leader for small projects or work groups, creating a collaborative and respectful team environment and improving workflows
Ability to lead operational initiatives to meet or exceed customer service standards and expectations in assigned unit(s) and/or across multiple areas in a timely and respectful manner
Work requires close attention to task for work to be accurately completed
Work is varied every day and the employee needs to be adaptable to respond to these changes and use independent judgment and manage priorities
