Responsibilities
Lead and manage engineering teams delivering design solutions for electric substation and transmission line projects
Oversee the successful execution of engineering studies and design deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget
Establish, monitor, and communicate key performance indicators related to schedule, cost, quality, and design cycle time
Drive accountability for safety, scope, quality, and customer satisfaction across assigned projects
Support the management and continuous improvement of construction drawing assets and engineering standards
Evaluate and implement design technology enhancements to improve project delivery efficiency
Partner with cross-functional teams including planning, asset strategy, system protection, construction, and project engineering throughout the project lifecycle
Collaborate with peers and senior leaders to improve processes, streamline workflows, and enhance operational efficiency
Present project status, risks, and performance insights to leadership and key stakeholders, providing actionable recommendations
Oversee capital project portfolios and apply best-in-class project controls to ensure transparency and quality in reporting
Lead the development of tools, processes, and frameworks to advance the maturity of project and people management practices
Support emergency response efforts as part of incident command during major operational events
Manage and develop staff through hiring, coaching, performance management, and recognition programs
Oversee departmental budgets, track expenditures, and explain variances against forecasts
Support labor relations activities and manage both union and non-union teams
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Extensive experience in project management within electric utility or power infrastructure environments
Demonstrated people leadership experience in a technical or engineering setting
Preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license and/or PMP certification
Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams
Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
Solid understanding of utility financial management, budgeting, and contracting practices
Strong business judgment, analytical capability, and strategic decision-making skills
Experience with labor agreements, vendor management, and engineering or construction contracts
Background in process improvement and operational excellence initiatives
