Student Assistant- Office of the Provost- Student Researcher

Inside Higher Ed is seeking a Student Assistant for the Office of the Provost to assist with educational research projects. The role involves conducting literature reviews, supporting research design and data analysis, and engaging with the campus community.

Responsibilities

The Research Assistant will perform research and provide support for Dr. Cardinal’s current projects, including but not limited to: Literature Reviews: Conduct comprehensive reviews of evidence-based best practices in:
Experiential learning methodologies
Undergraduate research programs
Internship effectiveness and outcomes
Career success metrics and pathways
Global engagement initiatives
Study abroad program evaluation
International student support services
Research & Writing: Assist with research design, data collection, analysis, and academic writing
Community Engagement: Participate in campus observation, collaboration, and outreach activities
Data Management: Organize and maintain research databases and citation libraries

Required

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
Demonstrated academic writing capabilities
Ability to conduct systematic literature reviews
Competency in understanding and comparing statistics and datasets
Knowledge of APA citation style
Active involvement in community and/or campus activities

Preferred

Knowledge of or willingness to learn AI research platforms and statistical software, including: STATA, SPSS, R, Python, or similar platforms
