Responsibilities

Lead architectural and design execution for new data center construction projects, from concept through construction
Manage RFQ/RFP processes, including consultant selection and contract negotiations
Develop and manage design budgets, schedules, and scope across multiple concurrent projects
Coordinate and oversee multidisciplinary consultant teams (architectural, structural, MEP, civil)
Ensure designs meet mission-critical requirements, constructability standards, and operational needs
Interface directly with local jurisdictions and regulatory agencies to negotiate code interpretations, variances, and departures from standard building codes
Support pre-construction activities including cost modeling, value engineering, and risk assessments
Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders
Develop business case inputs, high-level financial projections, and performance metrics
Drive adoption of standardized design frameworks, modular solutions, and repeatable construction methodologies

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Architecture
8 years of Project Management or Project Lead experience
RFQ/RFP development and execution
Consultant selection and oversight
Budget development and control
Cross-functional coordination and facilitation
Minimum 8 years of experience in data center or mission-critical facility design

Preferred

Professional Engineering (PE) or Architectural License
10+ years of experience in data center design, construction, operations, or facilities engineering
Direct experience delivering modular data center design projects, including procurement and commissioning
Functional knowledge of industry standards, environmental codes, building codes, and safety standards, including the International Building Code (IBC)
Working knowledge of BIM, Salesforce, Procore, and Smartsheet software platforms
