Body Controls Engineer

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies is a joint venture between two industry leaders focused on the future of automotive technology. They are seeking a dedicated and innovative Body Controls Engineer to develop and integrate control systems for various vehicle functions, including closures, lighting, seating, and accessory devices.

Responsibilities

Develop control algorithms and write Embedded C code for vehicle features such as Lighting, Powered Closures, Seating, Accessory Devices, etc
Create test cases and test scripts for evaluating related features in Unit test, Software-in-the-loop (SIL) test, and Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test environments
Collaborate with other controls engineers to enhance or create a simulation model/platform for analyzing, optimizing, and troubleshooting various aspects of the vehicle
Conduct design reviews for new content and address software issues in vehicles/prototypes. Aid in integrating features into the controller code base
Test the developed software on the vehicle and assist in feature calibration
Design diagnostic interfaces for the controller
Work within cross-functional teams to resolve controls-related challenges
Contribute to designing an exceptional engineering initiative aimed at elevating electric vehicles to new levels of sophistication

Qualification

Required

Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, automotive systems, or related fields
At least 1 year of experience with automotive control systems
At least 1 year of experience writing Embedded C code
Strong proficiency in C/C++, Python
Familiarity with model-based design using Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
Demonstrated creativity in design work along with manual fabrication skills and excellent communication abilities
Willingness to travel up to 20% as required
