Financial Empowerment Programs Manager

Britepaths is a 501c3 non-profit organization providing food, financial assistance, financial education, and workforce development programming and services for clients in Northern Virginia. The Financial Empowerment Programs Manager will lead and grow Britepaths’ financial coaching, education, and mentoring programs that help families build stability and independence.

Responsibilities

Oversee the delivery and growth of one-on-one financial coaching, financial mentoring, and personal finance workshops that help clients build financial stability and confidence
Design and deliver tailored financial education sessions, including budgeting, debt management, credit improvement, and long-term financial planning
Track program participation, outcomes, and client progress to measure impact and identify opportunities for improvement
Maintain and update financial empowerment presentation materials and program collateral
Recruit and onboard volunteers with the skills and passion to serve as financial coaches, mentors, and workshop instructors
Develop and deliver initial and ongoing training to equip volunteers with effective coaching techniques for low- to moderate-income clients
Provide continuous support, resources, and guidance to ensure volunteers are confident, prepared, and engaged
Maintain and update a library of volunteer training materials, curricula, and tools
Build and strengthen partnerships with local nonprofits, county agencies, and community organizations to expand program reach
Coordinate with existing partners to deliver financial empowerment services directly to their clients
Represent Britepaths and the Financial Empowerment Center at community meetings, events, and partnership meetings to promote programs and foster collaboration
Attend and participate in regular staff meetings and planning meetings
Manage assigned staff
Assist with client management
Assist with grant proposal development, reporting, and data entry needs
Participate in community meetings and committees as assigned
Maintain and update the Financial Empowerment Center’s operating procedures
Manage the Financial Empowerment Center’s virtual platforms
Commitment to stay current on Financial Coaching issues at the national and local level
Update Standard Operating Procedures as needed
Other duties as assigned by Director of Financial Empowerment

Required

Bachelor's degree in education, nonprofit management; or equivalent professional experience
Experience in program management, community engagement, or nonprofit program delivery
Excellent communication, facilitation, and public speaking skills; comfortable leading workshops and training sessions
Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including volunteers, clients, and community partners
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Preferred

Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) certification preferred; or strong knowledge of personal finance topics such as budgeting, credit, debt reduction, and savings strategies
Experience training, managing, or supporting volunteers strongly preferred
