Lab Technician (Night Shift) - Data Collection

Starling is a Y Combinator-backed digital health and medical device company pioneering at-home urine sensing remote patient monitoring. The Lab Technician will be responsible for accurate and efficient data collection and processing using spectroscopy-based devices, adhering to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

Responsibilities

Performs established experimental workflows analyzing clinical samples with basic analysis techniques (e.g. UV-Vis spectroscopy, dip-sticks, etc.)

Receive, label, and prepare samples according to established protocols

Perform routine quality control checks and maintain accurate records of quality control data

Adhere to strict Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and standard operating procedures (SOPs) throughout all laboratory activities

Maintain organized and accurate laboratory records, including sample logs, data sheets, and equipment maintenance records

Work closely with the data science team to ensure seamless data transfer and analysis

Set-up, operation, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment

Maintain an adequate inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents

Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment

Preferred

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Medical Technology, or a related field preferred

Proven experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably with experience in clinical or biological research laboratories

Experience working with human biological specimens

Strong understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)

Experience with UV-Vis spectroscopy or similar analytical techniques is a plus
