UTS - Temporary Computer Technician- Inspection and Customer Support at UNC Chapel Hill

They are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Computer Technician responsible for inspecting incoming computer equipment and assisting customers with technical issues related to refurbished systems.
Responsibilities
Receive and inspect incoming computer hardware
Evaluate condition and functionality to determine recycling or refurbishment
Perform basic diagnostics and repairs on refurbishable units
Document inspection results and maintain inventory records
Provide technical support to customers regarding refurbished computers
Collaborate with the sales and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations
Some duties involve retrieving equipment from a heated work shed
Qualification
Required
Receive and inspect incoming computer hardware

Perform basic diagnostics and repairs on refurbishable units
Document inspection results and maintain inventory records
Provide technical support to customers regarding refurbished computers

Comfortable working in cooler temperatures for short periods

Basic knowledge of computer hardware and troubleshooting
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication and customer service abilities
Experience with computer repair or IT support is a plus
