Biomedical Equipment Technician II

The Biomedical Equipment Technician II will perform maintenance cycles on Medical Equipment Sets, including all maintenance actions and technical inspections of medical equipment.

Responsibilities

Maintains records, writes reports, and coordinates outside repairs
Complete technical inspections of new, used or reconditioned medical equipment. Complete repair of damaged medical equipment
Complete overhaul of medical equipment. Use authorized Army Automation Systems, which include, but are not limited to, the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS), the Standard Army Maintenance System-Enhanced (SAMS-E), Theater Enterprise-Wide Logistics System (TEWLS), Global Combat Support System (GCSS) and other systems that are specifically authorized by the USAMMA M3D
Possess the training and abilities to technically inspect, repair, calibrate, and overhaul medical equipment
Perform calibration and PMCS

Required

Minimum three (3) or more years of experience as a BMET
Graduate of the Department of Defense (DoD) Medical Equipment Repairers Course or certified through the International Certification Commission (CBET) or have at least earned an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Medical Equipment Technology
A background check will be conducted
Possess the ability to pass a NACI background investigation and acquire a CAC
Possess the ability to pass a NCIC investigation and scored credit check per federal and contractual requirements
Must be a US citizen
Travel Requirement estimated 15%
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
Knowledge of schematics and works under relatively close supervision on repairs, safety testing, and preventive maintenance (PM)
Has advanced knowledge of policies, practices, procedures, and types of equipment
Strong technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex biomedical equipment
Proficiency in the use of diagnostic tools and software
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
