Family Law Associate Attorney
Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of family law matters from intake through resolution
Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement agreements, judgments, subpoenas, correspondence, and trial briefs
Conduct thorough legal research and remain current on applicable laws and legal precedents
Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure exceptional client service and case outcomes
Travel to offices and courts throughout Southern California as required
Demonstrate strong time management and billing discipline, maintaining a minimum of 140 billable hours per month
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Active member in good standing with the California State Bar
1–5 years of legal experience
Strong legal research, writing, and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively on complex legal matters
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research platforms (e.g., Westlaw)
Preferred
Prior experience practicing family law
Experience representing clients in court, mediation, and negotiations
Familiarity with family law accounting principles
