Electronic Systems Architect - Open Rank (Senior Level) - ACL - Patuxent River, MD
The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is a nonprofit, applied research division of the Georgia Institute of Technology. They are seeking an Electronic Systems Architect to design, develop, and deploy integrated hardware and software solutions for advanced capabilities in support of US DoD aerospace systems requirements.

Responsibilities
Develop system architectures to deploy complex electronic systems
Support all phases of program execution, but primarily invest time in the program design and implementation phases
Guide technical vision of domain area and recommend areas for investment of internal research and development and modernization funding
Provide significant technical impact on sponsor base and gain trust in community
Perform comparative analysis to similar systems, assessing system strengths and weaknesses
Research system theory and design concepts and implementation methods to help in determining system functionality, state of the art, and potential weaknesses
Create and take ownership of large complex program teams, mentoring team leads and individual researchers
Primary author of technical reports and presentations for projects of high complexity
Compile report input from other researchers and prepare final report deliverables
Serve as the primary author of pertinent white papers, and competitive proposals
Provide technical vision to sponsors across multiple research areas
Collaboration across GTRI laboratories to address multi-disciplined national security research and development needs

Qualification
Required
Degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences or equivalent
10-years relevant technical experience developing and fielding electronic systems for military aviation
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD TS/SCI Security Clearance
14 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or equivalent field of study
12 years of related experience with a Masters' degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or equivalent field of study
9 years of related experience with a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or equivalent field of study
U.S. Citizenship Requirements: Due to our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be U.S. Citizens
Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance
Preferred
Active TS/SCI Clearance
Master's Degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences or equivalent
Technical leadership experience on major DoD program(s)
Naval aviation expertise
Knowledge of DoD research, development and acquisition
