Head of Software Engineering
Harvey Nash is seeking a Head of Software Engineering to lead their technology team. The role involves overseeing software engineering operations, implementing best practices, and ensuring effective team structures in a B2B enterprise SaaS environment.
Responsibilities
Proven experience as a CTO, Head of Software Engineering, or equivalent senior technology leader in scaled organizations
Deep understanding of software engineering operating models, including team topology, governance, and delivery standards
Strong background in B2B enterprise SaaS, fintech, or capital-markets-adjacent platforms
Demonstrated ability to assess and redesign engineering organizations for scale, consistency, and execution maturity
Expertise in Agile at scale, including modern Scrum, product-aligned team structures, and cross-team dependency management
Experience defining and implementing engineering best practices, standards, and governance frameworks
Strong architectural literacy across modern software platforms, APIs, cloud-native systems, and developer tooling
Ability to identify leadership gaps and organizational risk without direct authority
Exceptional executive communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complexity for CEOs, CIOs, and PE stakeholders
Trusted advisor mindset—able to influence without enforcement and operate effectively with no formal reports
Experience creating clear roadmaps, transition plans, and executive-ready documentation
Comfort operating in interim, fractional, or advisory roles with clear time-bound objectives
