Responsibilities

Collaborates with clinicians, data scientists, and IT teams to translate clinical workflows into system requirements and data models
Ensures accurate mapping of clinical coding ontologies to support claims, risk adjustment, quality reporting, and interoperability
Supports integration of Electronic Health Record (EHR) data, Health Information Exchange (HIE) feeds, and claims data into enterprise platforms
Serves as a subject matter expert on clinical data standards and interoperability frameworks, as well as integration of clinical knowledge into payer-driven transformation projects (e.g., value-based care, alternative payment models, health equity)
Partners with analytics teams to develop actionable insights via dashboards, quality measure reports, and predictive models for utilization, cost, and outcomes
Collaborates with technical and clinical teams to validate clinical data sets, identify and resolve data quality issues. Provides recommendations for improving the accuracy, completeness, and usability of clinical data from internal and external data sources
Works with external stakeholders including providers, health systems and others to optimize care delivery for all members
Provides informatics expertise for care management, quality management, population health management, utilization management, and disease management programs
Identifies opportunities for closing care gaps, reducing avoidable admissions, and improving member engagement
Supports clinical decision support tools and evidence-based guideline implementation
Participates in data governance and interoperability initiatives
Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. Supports audits and regulatory reporting by ensuring clinical data integrity
Contributes to enterprise initiatives in artificial intelligence/machine learning, predictive analytics, and digital health tools that improve member outcomes
Performs work under minimal supervision. Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff
Coaches and mentor's department staff and collaborates with leadership to support strategic goals within the team

Qualification

Required

At least 5 years of experience with clinical informatics, healthcare analytics, healthcare delivery, experience in a provider setting, or other related experience
Bachelor's degree in healthcare, health informatics, or related field
Demonstrated ability to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions in complex scenarios
Strong capability to interpret data, recognize patterns, and synthesize information into actionable insights
Skilled in gathering information from multiple sources and integrating findings to support decision-making
Deep understanding of clinical workflows, terminology, and standards; experience on the provider side strongly preferred
Ability to clearly articulate ideas and findings through verbal and written communication for internal stakeholders
Proven ability to work effectively across teams, including clinicians, data analysts, and technical staff
Experience managing timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations for projects of moderate complexity

North Dakota (ND) Registered Nurse (RN) License or RN License valid for work in ND preferred
