Responsibilities
Lead the R&D team in the development of innovative cementing solutions that enhance well integrity and performance in the basins where NexTier operates
Oversee the improvement of existing cementing products, focusing on performance, cost-effectiveness, and environmental impact
Explore and integrate new technologies and materials into cementing solutions to maintain industry leadership
Collaborate with operations, engineering, and sales teams to align R&D initiatives with business strategies and customer demands
Manage the R&D project portfolio, ensuring timely and successful delivery of projects within budget
Mentor and develop the R&D team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to inform R&D strategies
Represent the company at industry conferences and collaborate with external partners, including universities and research institutions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in an Engineering disciple, Material Science, Chemistry, or a related field
Minimum of 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on well cementing
Proven track record of leading R&D projects, preferably within an oilfield services environment
Strong knowledge of cementing technologies, materials, and industry standards
Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners
Innovative mindset with a passion for developing cutting-edge solutions
Skilled in supervision while exhibiting motivation, coaching, delegation, and training
Strong customer focus with decision making process based on company's core values
