Front Office Receptionist - Greensboro NC (GSL)

The Front Office Receptionist will be responsible for patient registration, verifying insurance coverage, and providing exceptional customer service as the first point of contact for patients and visitors.

Responsibilities

Welcome patients and visitors by greeting them in person or on the telephone, answering or referring inquiries
Note patient arrivals in the Practice Management System (EMR)
Identify patients by date of birth and name in the computer system, creating new accounts for new patients
Prepare necessary patient paperwork prior to appointments
Call "No Show" patients to reschedule, documenting appropriately in the Practice Management System
Schedule appointments to optimize patient satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization
Assist in emergency situations by providing prompt support and using good judgment
Review and update patient information in the Practice Management System (EMR)
Verify insurance eligibility and financial status, notifying the Billing Department if prior authorization is needed
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the reception area
Handle patient copays and outstanding balances at check-in/out
Protect patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Follow operational procedures and report any issues to management
Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed
Exhibit superior customer service skills at all times
Answer phone calls in a timely and professional manner
Communicate effectively and courteously with patients, visitors, and team members
Perform other duties as assigned by the Practice Manager or Area Practice Manager

Required

High School Diploma required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and multiple tasks simultaneously

Preferred

Associate's Degree preferred
1 year of customer service experience in a healthcare setting preferred
Proficiency in using medical software and EMR systems is a plus
