This role focuses on technical oversight, design review, and coordination for environmental, water, sewer, drainage, and related systems that serve the city.

Responsibilities

Lead engineering design, analysis, and technical oversight for infrastructure projects

Review and approve plans, specifications, and technical documents for accuracy and compliance

Ensure projects meet applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements

Provide technical guidance and direction to engineering staff

Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and external agencies

Participate in field work and project inspections as required

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline

Professional Engineer (PE) license

Experience supporting public works, utilities, infrastructure, environmental, or municipal projects

Strong knowledge of engineering codes, standards, and compliance requirements

Proven ability to lead projects and mentor engineering staff

Willingness to perform field work and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams

Preferred

Louisiana PE preferred; out-of-state PE accepted with Louisiana licensure required upon hire
