Responsibilities
Assesses, creates, and maintains reporting needs of Phelps Health end users and external vendors through investigations, analysis, and evaluation to create desired content in Epic and Workday. Utilizes Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, and SQL to meet needs of end users. Evaluates requests for completeness, and, if needed, works with end users to finalize the request
Designs and documents the general functional requirements and detailed technical specifications of requests for reports, dashboards, components, metrics, and their related Epic databases. Provides documentation and demonstrations to transfer knowledge and operational support
Maintains ongoing quality control of delivered reports. Validates system build and report designs and performs audit and report findings of security and data controls
Participates in meetings with stakeholders from clinical, revenue, executive, and information system groups and leadership. Documents main points, issues, requests, and key decisions
Recommends changes to established guidelines, standards, methodologies, and conventions as appropriate
Displays strong written, verbal, and follow-up skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues in terms clearly understood by technical and non-technical audiences. Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills by effectively working with other team members to identify and resolve problems with process workflow and assisting end users with understanding the reporting content
Possesses good organizational skills. Prioritizes multiple activities and objectives in a rapidly changing environment while delivering quality service in a timely manner. Presents conflicts in priorities to the Lead Business Intelligence Developer or Cogito Project Manager for resolution
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a related field of study (i.e. healthcare, business, computer science, information systems, statistics) or 2+ years of related experience
One year of experience with design and development of Business Intelligence tools
Strong written, verbal, and follow-up skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues in terms clearly understood by technical and non-technical audiences
Good organizational skills
Ability to prioritize multiple activities and objectives in a rapidly changing environment while delivering quality service in a timely manner
Preferred
One year of experience with EMR reporting or other healthcare experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
SQL Server querying
Relational database concepts
Epic accreditation or certification in any of the following: Cogito, Cogito Tools Administration, Clarity Data Model, Caboodle Data Model, Clinical/Access/Revenue Data Model, Research Informatics Core, Radar SQL Metrics, SlicerDicer Custom Build, Cogito SQL
