Responsibilities

Manage and steward a portfolio of 100 foundation and corporate funders by maintaining a calendar of deadlines to ensure timely submissions and reporting
Lead all grant submissions, including letters of inquiry, applications, acknowledgements, compliance documentation, and reporting
Identify programs, projects, and capital needs that align with funder priorities
Coordinate leadership involvement, including touchpoints with the Executive Director, Senior Director, and collaborating with the Director of Nutrition and Programs and the Director of Operations
Lead public recognition of grant awards
Conduct ongoing prospect research to identify new grant opportunities supporting organizational strategic goals
Generate creative, mission-driven content 2-3 times per week to engage volunteers, donors, and partners, cross-posted to Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
Curate high-engagement social media and program content for a monthly e-blast to boost supporter connection
Lead creation of print materials, including the annual report, annual appeals, and other assets with an outsourced graphic design partner
Interview clients for meaningful impact stories for grant reports, socials, and other collateral
Direct the work of the agency’s outsourced graphic design partner and oversee all content revisions
Write press releases as necessary
Solicit Sponsorships for A Tasteful Affair, the agency’s annual gala
Support fundraising event goals through the timely creation of collateral, including invitations, sponsorship menus, and signage with an outsourced graphic design partner

Required

3+ years of experience in grant writing or a related field
A Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Social Sciences, or another related field
Demonstrated ability to communicate information in written and spoken language to diverse groups of people
Passion for the mission and values of Food Outreach and the national Food Is Medicine Coalition
Valid driver's license
Availability for occasional local and national travel
Comfort working at a computer workstation for extended periods
