Production Lead

Responsibilities

Ensures that the necessary equipment is available and in working order to complete assignments
Leads team in conducting daily safety checks on equipment
Inspects quality and quantity of supplies and equipment delivered to the team
Verifies that outgoing deliveries meet company quality standards, and that order slips match and have the appropriate signatures
Keeps team members informed about rules, regulations, policies, and objectives
Maintains detailed and accurate work records
Collaborates with the team to identify ways to improve department effectiveness; implements viable ideas
Resolves conflicts that arise among team members and/or other employees
Perform other duties as assigned
Complying with all facility safety rules and regulations
Reporting any unsafe practices and/or conditions to their supervisor
Maintaining floor safety discipline by interceding with fellow employees, who may engage in rule violations and/or unsafe, unhealthy activities
Communicating to management those employees who persist in violations of safety rules and/or procedures
Wearing required personal protective equipment properly and reporting any defective PPE
Reporting all near misses, accidents, injuries or illnesses, including Musculoskeletal symptoms or disorders
Be aware of work tickets with pins on shades. Ensure all tickets are pinned correctly so they do not stick any
Be aware of the platforms in the department. Injury may occur if you trip or step on the platforms
Be careful of inspection machines. The machines move up and down constantly. Be careful when walking near the machine when it is lifting or lowering, a possible head injury could occur if you are not paying close attention to what you are doing
Use safety glasses whenever you are using the staple guns or saws in the department
Ensure all equipment and tools are put in their designated spot before you leave
Always unplug irons and drills each day before leaving to go home
Ask for assistance before lifting heavy fabric
Keep your area neat and clean at all times. Make sure no objects are left of the floor or in any work area. Housekeeping is done daily 10 minutes before the end of the shift
Put trash in the proper area for pick up each day
Be aware of the Emergency Evacuation Route for your department. Be sure you know where to go in case of an emergency
Please report any unsafe conditions you may see in any area of Carole Fabrics to your supervisor

Required

High school graduate
2 years' of related work experience
Able to use and read a tape measure
General knowledge of fabrics
Ability to use production equipment
Ability to use hand tools
Successfully pass color blind test
Accuracy with names, numbers and spelling
Capable of standing for extended periods of time
Capable of lifting on a continuous basis
Strong attention to details
Follow written and verbal instructions
