Senior LevelThe company is a boutique buy side executive search firm seeking a lead/senior-level credit alpha researcher for a reputable hedge fund. This role focuses on generating investment insights across credit indices and involves driving alpha generation through quantitative analysis and macro perspectives.
Responsibilities
Drive/lead alpha generation by combining quantitative analysis, and macro perspectives (HY, Loans, IG, CLO and derivatives)
Create quantitative research frameworks that systematically uncover relative value, mispricing, and risk premia across bonds, CDS, and credit indices
Partner with portfolio manager, traders and analysts to translate research into actionable trade ideas and portfolio construction decisions
Leverage large datasets, factor models, flow analysis and market signals to identify leading indicators of credit performance
Evaluate event-driven and special situations for asymmetric opportunities
Continuously refine research processes, integrating fundamental insights with systematic approaches to sustain an edge in alpha discovery
Qualification
Required
Strong educational background: preferably an advanced degree in Computational Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or Computer Science
Buy-side credit research (investment grade and high yield) a strong preference
Familiarity with credit derivatives and index products (CDX, iTraxx, tranched credit)
Extensive experience in financial modeling, combined with quantitative/statistical techniques
Strong programming/data analysis skills (Python, R, or MATLAB) with ability to work with large, complex datasets
Ability to connect quantitative signals, macro insights, and fundamental credit research into investable recommendations
Excellent communication skills to deliver high conviction, differentiated alpha ideas to senior PM
