Business Development Rep

Baselayer is an intelligent business identity platform trusted by over 2,200 financial institutions. They are seeking a Business Development Representative to build and scale their pipeline by generating new sales opportunities and qualifying leads, while working closely with the sales team.

Responsibilities

Identify and generate new sales opportunities through inbound qualification and outbound outreach
Qualify leads using a consultative approach to uncover pain points and align Baselayer’s solutions
Execute outbound sequences across email, phone, and LinkedIn to create qualified meetings
Conduct account research to identify high-potential prospects, build target lists, and personalize outreach
Maintain accurate activity, notes, and lead status in HubSpot
Partner closely with Account Executives to coordinate handoffs and drive pipeline conversion
Develop a strong understanding of Baselayer’s ideal customer profile and improve targeting over time
Support field and event-driven pipeline, including attending sponsored and company events as needed
Travel approximately 10 to 15 percent for events, onsite meetings, and team collaboration

Required

1 or more years of experience in a high-performance environment, such as finance, fintech, consulting, venture capital, or sales
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to learn through fast iteration
Proactive, self-directed mindset with high activity and follow-through
Strong organizational habits and attention to detail
Bachelor's degree from a four-year university

Preferred

Strong understanding of customer ICP and the ability to translate it into effective targeting and outreach
Familiarity with Nooks or similar sales engagement and dialing software is a plus
Strong experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator is a big plus
You are highly coachable and actively seek feedback, with a growth mindset and high standards
You are a problem-solver who navigates the unknown confidently
