Gulfstream Aerospace is a leading company in the design and manufacturing of advanced business jet aircraft. They are seeking an NDT Tech Apprentice to be trained and certified in Nondestructive Testing of aircraft components under the guidance of experienced personnel.

Responsibilities

Under direct observation of Level 2 or 3 personnel, observe proper NDT inspection methodology to Gulfstream internal practices and procedures

Assist in recording inspection records in inspection logs, Solumina, SAP, or other inspection systems

Team support of NDT inspections performed within Gulfstream

Assist in the cleaning, maintenance and calibration of equipment

Assist in maintaining equipment inventory and assisting with 6S of the NDT areas

Assist in the interpretation of Engineering drawings/requirements and support Level 2 or Level 3’s in determination of inspection requirements

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Assist in generating technical presentations utilizing sound computer skills

Perform other duties as assigned

Required

High School Diploma or GED required

Strong science and computer aptitude required

Essential communication skills, including read, write, speak and understand English language, listening and computer skills required

Must be able to enroll at a technical college or other NDT school as designated

Must be able to read a scale and perform basic shop math

Read and comprehend basic documents and instructions

Must have essential personal skills

Must demonstrate good housekeeping and safety practices

Proficiency in current personal computer-based software

Must be able to lift and transport objects up to 40 pounds

Preferred

Familiar with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Power Point, Word)

Good math skills

Good communication (Oral and Written)

Work well in a team environment

Other Formal documented NDT training preferred
