Responsibilities
Prepare and support statutory financial reporting (Yellow Book): Own Yellow Book & NAIC filings
Manage quarterly and annual statutory close
Prepare and review statutory statements, schedules & footnotes
Lead stat audits and regulator interactions
Manage and develop 2 staff accountants
Partner with GAAP & SEC teams (GAAP exposure helpful, but Stat is the focus)
Assist with insurance accounting operations, including month-end close and general ledger activities
Qualification
Required
4–7 years of experience in insurance accounting
Working knowledge of statutory accounting and reporting requirements
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Preferred
Background with an insurance carrier preferred; Big 4 experience also considered
Experience with GL implementations or accounting system upgrades is a plus
Comfortable operating in a fast-changing environment with evolving structures
