They are seeking a Head of AI/ML Engineering to lead the design and execution of AI products and machine learning models, while working closely with a cross-functional team to influence product vision and development.

Responsibilities

Lead design and execution of AI products and machine learning models

Bring strong problem-solving skills, a collaborative spirit, and a passion for building models, and robust, scalable, and user-friendly web applications

Work closely alongside experienced leaders, a cross-functional team, and vendor partners

Influence process, product, and vision

Own the full lifecycle of AI feature development, taking concepts from model architecture and prototyping directly through to production-grade coding and full-stack integration within the application

Required

Technical leadership experience: lead machine learning engineer, VP of engineering, principal ML architect, principal data scientist, staff machine learning engineer, founding engineer, CTO, or similar

6+ years of experience designing, building, and deploying production-grade ML models

Strong familiarity deploying supervised and unsupervised models, including CI/CD pipelines, versioning, automated deployment, monitoring, and model calibration

Bridge the gap between data science and software engineering by not only designing algorithmic strategies but also architecting and writing the backend infrastructure required to deploy, serve, and scale them in the product

Own the full lifecycle of AI feature development, taking concepts from model architecture and prototyping directly through to production-grade coding and full-stack integration within the application

Curiosity about fintech + empathy for users (you are passionate about building technology that solves real-world financial challenges)

A deep understanding of code versioning tools like Git and best practices for repository management

Curiosity about fintech + empathy for users (you are passionate about building technology that solves real-world financial challenges)

Comfortable in a lean, early-stage environment with high ownership (hands-on, end-to-end builder); you are a self-starter who builds without needing constant oversight

Available 3-4 days/week; flexible New York City hybrid – occasional in-office, as needed

PhD in computer science, data science, or engineering
