Responsibilities
Evaluate cost and schedule plans to confirm project objectives are achievable
Develop, maintain, and update monthly budget forecasts and cost projections
Prepare detailed cost, schedule, and performance reports, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions
Assess project performance using established industry standards and methodologies
Support responses to regulatory and internal budget inquiries with accurate, up-to-date cost data
Communicate project cost, schedule, and risk status to project teams, stakeholders, and leadership
Collaborate with design, planning, and scheduling teams using enterprise systems and tools
Assist with financial authorizations, estimates, re-approvals, journal entries, and goods receipt processing
Track achievement of cost and schedule milestones and support continuous improvement initiatives
Manage project orders from initiation through closeout, ensuring documentation and compliance requirements are met
Maintain logs for scope changes, contingencies, change orders, and financial entries
Ensure all project documentation is accurately maintained within electronic document management systems
Prepare and deliver regular cost and schedule status reports with variance analysis for project leadership
Support post-project reviews and lessons-learned activities
Produce weekly and monthly project performance reports, dashboards, and scorecards for leadership
Validate data quality and ensure reporting accuracy across financial and scheduling datasets
Provide analytical and administrative support to project managers as needed
Monitor departmental forecasting performance and analyze trends using financial tracking systems
Deliver monthly financial insights, highlighting key cost drivers and performance indicators
Support annual budget targets through accurate forecasting and variance explanations
Partner with project managers to develop and maintain project schedules and cash flow forecasts
Participate in project kickoff meetings, status reviews, and site walkdowns
Track milestones, risks, and progress updates, adjusting schedules as needed
Maintain and control project schedules using enterprise scheduling and project management software
Respond to ad-hoc data and cost analysis requests
Participate in or lead process improvement initiatives within the project management function
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in project controls, finance, accounting, business planning, construction management, or project management within a utility or infrastructure environment
Preferred
Experience with enterprise systems such as SAP, Primavera P6, Excel, and related project management tools
Familiarity with project management platforms and document control systems
Strong foundation in budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and earned value analysis
Knowledge of project management best practices, methodologies, and scheduling techniques
Professional certifications such as CAPM or PMP
Willingness to travel as required
