Field Support Specialist

Softworld, a Kelly Company, is seeking a skilled Desktop/Field Support Specialist to join the Airport Information Systems team within the City of Phoenix Aviation Department. This position provides hands-on technical support for mission-critical airport systems and requires after-hours support in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Provide after-hours support for airport operations, passengers, and tenants, including coordination of help desk calls, ticket distribution, and resolution
Troubleshoot and repair mission-critical systems requiring 100% uptime
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on hardware and peripherals
Install software updates and create/deploy workstation images
Support technology team initiatives for change management, projects, and system outages
Collaborate with vendors and contractors for escalation and 2nd-level support
Maintain asset inventory, perform audits, and document processes
Provide basic user training and guidance as needed
Work in varied environments, including elevated areas, high-voltage equipment zones, and below-ground vaults

Required

Minimum of 3 years' professional IT support experience (hardware, software, or infrastructure)
15 credit hours in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Must be willing to work 3rd shift, weekends, holidays, and irregular hours as needed
Must pass a federal background check
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and walk up to 5 miles daily
Valid Arizona driver's license with a clean record
Accurate color perception for safe handling of electrical wiring

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
2+ years of after-hours or overnight IT support experience
2+ years supporting 200+ networked users and devices
Proficiency with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems
Experience with SCCM or other imaging/deployment tools
Experience writing technical documentation, procedures, and project reports
Familiarity with systems such as CUPPS, CUSS, paging, and airport information displays
