As a Senior Tax Associate in the State and Local Tax Compliance group, you will ensure clients adhere to Sales & Use Tax regulations, manage compliance engagements, and oversee tax associates to deliver comprehensive tax solutions.

Responsibilities

Manage and execute multistate Sales & Use tax compliance processes, including return preparation, filing, and payment remittance
Develop and maintain tax compliance calendars to ensure timely filing of returns and payments across multiple jurisdictions
Conduct thorough reviews of client data to identify potential compliance issues and recommend corrective actions
Coordinate with state tax authorities on notices
Maintain comprehensive documentation for compliance processes and ensure adherence to firm standards and regulatory requirements

Qualification

Sales & Use Tax complianceData analysisMicrosoft ExcelTax compliance softwareCommunication skills

Required

Three to five years of experience in Sales & Use tax compliance within a public accounting firm
Strong skills in data analysis and reconciliation, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills for interacting with clients, team members, and tax authorities
Proficiency in tax compliance software systems such as Avalara and Vertex
Three to five years of experience in Sales & Use tax consulting within a public accounting firm

Preferred

Familiarity in state income tax, property tax, and other SALT areas as a plus
