Responsibilities
Server Administration: Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, 2022), including Active Directory, Group Policy (GPO), and DNS services
Virtualization Management: Manage the VMWare vSphere infrastructure, including vCenter Server, ESXi hosts, and virtual machine lifecycle
Security & Hardening: Implement and maintain system security by applying DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and performing regular vulnerability assessments and remediation using tools like ACAS/Nessus
Patch Management: Oversee server patching and updates using WSUS or other enterprise patch management solutions to mitigate vulnerabilities and ensure system integrity
Automation: Utilize PowerShell scripting to automate routine administrative tasks, system deployments, and security configurations
Monitoring & Performance: Monitor server and system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high levels of availability and reliability
Collaboration: Work with cybersecurity and network teams to ensure the server infrastructure is secure, compliant, and integrated with other enterprise systems
Qualification
Required
Clearance Level: Secret or Top-Secret Clearance
Certifications (IAT Level III): SecurityX, CCNP Security, CISA CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH
Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or 5 years equivalent professional experience
Proven experience administering Windows Server environments
Hands-on experience managing a VMWare vSphere/vCenter virtualized environment
Preferred
Advanced certifications such as VMWare Certified Professional (VCP), MCSE: Core Infrastructure, or CISSP
Strong proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation
In-depth knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policies and STIG implementation
Experience with enterprise backup and storage solutions
