Responsibilities

Direct and coordinate accounting operations for branches in multiple states, ensuring consistency and robust controls throughout the organization
Supervise all transactional accounting activities (AP, AR, payroll, bank reconciliations, general ledger) for every entity. Ensure proper coding and documentation from all branches
Monitor and manage cash flow across all sites, prepare and forecast periodic statements, and oversee banking relationships and reconciliations
Oversee close processes and consolidation of financial statements. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, union agreements, and best practices
Oversee payroll processes, compliance with contracts, and liaise with managers and HR for related reporting
Develop, implement, and monitor controls; drive process improvements, technology adoption, and scaling of systems for organizational growth
Supervise, guide, and develop accounting staff at each branch, lead headcount planning, and serve as the primary point of contact for accounting and finance matters
Support the CFO with financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic growth initiatives
Oversee and recommend technology solutions for accounting and reporting needs, focusing on scalable platforms

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience IN CONSTRUCTION industry
5+ years in a controller or senior accounting role
Experience overseeing multi-site and multi-state operations
Strong knowledge of union payroll administration and compliance
Proficient in accounting systems/software - Vista is a PLUS
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Excel
Proven ability to lead, develop, and supervise accounting teams across multiple locations
Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
