They are seeking a full-time Environmental Field Tech 1 to collect water samples and perform environmental testing to ensure compliance with safety standards. The role involves daily sampling projects, equipment maintenance, and client interaction in the greater Twin Cities area.

Responsibilities

The tech will be responsible for providing wastewater and/or groundwater testing services to clients in the greater twin cities and surrounding areas, including northern MN
The tech will be responsible for performing daily sampling projects ranging from surface water, drinking water, ground water, soil, to industrial process waste
The tech will be responsible for programming, deployment and retrieval of auto-samplers and flow monitoring equipment
The tech will be responsible for recording measurements and calibrating and performing maintenance on a variety of water quality meters
Ability to interpret scientific documentation including environmental permits, site specific sampling plans, Quality Assurance Project Plans, and EPA methodologies
A motivated individual would interact daily with clients, promote cooperation and teamwork among staff and follow Pace policies and standard operating procedures

Required

Must have High School Diploma
A valid Driver's License and a clean driving record
Drug Free
Mobility to safely operate a motor vehicle and exert up to 75 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects; vision to read printed materials and computer screens; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone

Preferred

AS or BS degree preferred (Environmental Science or related field is ideal)
Experience in related studies or work is preferred; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
One year of experience in a lab or environmental setting is preferred
Experience operating a watercraft and off-road driving experience utilizing ATVs is a plus
