Responsibilities
National Account Managers are responsible for developing leads across North America into customer accounts that become part of the Account Manager's protected book of business
Most leads are spread out across the nation and cultivated by phone, email, video conferencing, etc., while local leads may also be cultivated in person
Once accounts are established, the Account Manager will foster and preserve an ongoing, mutually beneficial relationship with their customers by providing consistently excellent customer service to grow the account and become their go-to freight broker for all their shipments
Qualification
Required
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Professional verbal and written communication skills
Coachable – Willing and desirous to gain and utilize new knowledge and skills
Lead generation and development skills – excitement to make the next call and find your next customer, ability to 'think on your feet,' mindset to embrace each 'no' as a steppingstone to the next 'yes,' confidence to ask current customers for referrals, etc
Strong and confident decision-making
Creative problem solving
Excellent negotiation skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced industry, effectively prioritizing multiple job tasks throughout each day
Account management and customer service skills
Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, CRM software, internet, etc.)
Preferred
Experience in sales and/or in the logistics industry
