This position plays a key role in reviewing subdivision and land development proposals, guiding the public through land use regulations, and supporting long-range planning efforts that shape the future of Union County.
Government Administration
Responsibilities
Review subdivision and land development plans for accuracy and compliance with County regulations
Conduct site visits and prepare written plan review recommendations
Provide information to citizens, developers, and contractors on zoning, land use, and application procedures
Assist in drafting and updating zoning and subdivision ordinances
Attend Planning Commission and related meetings; prepare reports and background research
Create informational materials and support general Planning Department functions
Assists with implementation of comprehensive plan priorities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Urban/Regional Planning, Geography, Environmental Planning, or a related field
Minimum 2 years of experience in land use planning or community development
Valid Pennsylvania driver's license required
Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite and have a basic understanding of ArcGIS
Preferred
local government experience preferred
