Senior Software Engineer II, Care, Provider Pay & Incentives

Responsibilities
Design and build scalable backend and full-stack services using Ruby on Rails and React
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship high-impact features that improve the member and caregiver experience
Expand and maintain existing web applications and infrastructure
Debug and resolve issues quickly and efficiently
Provide technical leadership in architectural discussions, code reviews, and system planning
Uphold high engineering standards, including test coverage, documentation, and performance
Participate in an on-call rotation to support system reliability and respond to production issues
Collaborate flexibly across time zones, as needed, to support distributed teams and stakeholders
Mentor and guide engineers, fostering growth and best practices
Proactively improve team velocity, tooling, and engineering process
Drive integration of observability, performance monitoring, and resiliency features
Represent the team in org-wide technical and architectural discussions
Qualification
Required
6–8+ years of experience in software development with a focus on backend development
Expertise in at least one of the following languages: Ruby on Rails, Java, C#, Python, or equivalent
Proven experience leading delivery of complex technical projects or 0–1 product development
Strong cross-functional collaboration and mentorship abilities
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Familiarity with observability and experimentation tools, such as Datadog, LaunchDarkly, Sentry, Mixpanel, Iterable
Experience architecting complex systems or microservices
Fluency in SQL and modern data tooling (e.g., DBT, Snowflake)
Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and unblock other engineers
Preferred
Bonus: Experience with AI tooling and developing integrations
