VP – Credit Stress Testing & Portfolio Risk
HW3 is a global financial institution seeking a Vice President-level leader to enhance its credit stress testing and portfolio analytics. The role involves leading credit stress testing for wholesale portfolios, partnering with various stakeholders, and overseeing model governance and regulatory alignment.
Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end credit stress testing for wholesale portfolios, including scenario design, loss forecasting, model execution, and result interpretation
Partner with Enterprise Risk, Finance, Model Development, Credit Officers, and Business leaders to deliver internal and strategic stress testing exercises
Integrate stress testing outcomes into the risk appetite framework to inform limits and risk tolerance decisions
Serve as model owner for credit stress testing models, overseeing governance, performance, and regulatory alignment
Enhance analytical processes, tools, and infrastructure to improve automation, data quality, and turnaround time
Support enterprise initiatives related to climate risk and ESG-driven credit exposure assessment
Embed regulatory expectations (e.g., SR 12-7, SR 15-18) into methodologies and documentation
Lead and develop a team of quantitative analysts
Qualification
Required
5+ years in Credit Risk, Portfolio Analytics, or Stress Testing within a large financial institution
Prior experience in a lead or people-management role
Strong knowledge of credit stress testing methodologies, including CCAR, CECL, and loss forecasting
Experience acting as a model owner in a regulated environment
Proficiency with quantitative and data tools (SAS, Python, R, SQL, Alteryx; PowerBI a plus)
Strong ability to communicate complex analytics to senior management
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a quantitative field
Advanced degree or CFA / FRM preferred
Experience integrating climate risk into credit stress testing frameworks is a plus
