Postdoctoral Research Fellow

The Coomer Lab is seeking a postdoctoral researcher with expertise in electrophysiology to study neural circuit regeneration in zebrafish, leading independent research and mentoring students while collaborating across various scientific domains.

Responsibilities
Conduct independent research using patch-clamp and related electrophysiological methods to characterize neuronal function during regeneration
Maintain and manage electrophysiology equipment, ensuring rigs and software are operational for lab members
Mentor graduate and undergraduate students, supporting their technical training and project development
Collaborate across divisions (molecular, behavioral, computational) to integrate electrophysiological data with imaging, genetic, and modeling approaches
Contribute to dissemination of research through manuscripts, presentations, and conference participation
Qualification
Required
PhD in Neuroscience
1-5 years of related experience in electrophysiology
Demonstrated ability to design and execute independent experiments
Commitment to mentorship, collaboration, and contributing to an inclusive lab community
Familiarity with imaging and/or computational analysis of neural activity
