Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Founder/CEO and development team to design and implement legally sound structures for platform features, including Wills/Trust creation/updates (TurboTax-like questionnaires, state-specific PDFs, signing/notary integrations) and JAG-aligned elements (e.g., DoW personnel systems compliance)
Provide expert guidance on IP strategy, including patent filings for proprietary innovations (e.g., AI Digital Corpus safeguards, Casualty Assistance Automation)
Ensure platform-wide compliance with DoW standards, GDPR, HIPAA, fiduciary laws, and state-specific estate regulations; mitigate risks in scaling from DoW to nationwide/international
Develop workflows for Designated Trustee Services (executing Benefactor-requested tasks post-transition, including confidential directives not divulged to beneficiaries) and Milestone Messages (manual delivery by team at specified times to intended recipients, requiring trustee-like execution even if not explicitly requested, to fulfill Benefactor vision)
Strictly prevent any unauthorized practice of law (UPL) by the platform, ensuring all legal processes involve licensed oversight and human verification
Upon funding, build and lead the CarryOn Legal Team (attorney advisor, paralegal, admin) for ongoing verifications (e.g., Death Certificates, Wills/Trusts, transition notifications)
Oversee legal aspects of partnerships (e.g., state attorneys, notaries) and contracts (e.g., OTA pursuits, vendor agreements)
Advise on corporate governance, cybersecurity policies, and ethical AI frameworks as the company grows
