Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and support of backend systems using modern distributed architectures

Build and maintain highly available, scalable, and resilient services critical to trading and financial platforms

Provide hands-on development and code-level leadership across services, APIs, and middleware

Guide architectural decisions, design patterns, and technology selection aligned with business needs

Participate in production incident calls, root cause analysis, and post-incident remediation

Drive performance optimization, system reliability, and operational excellence

Ensure secure application design and adherence to best practices for data protection and compliance

Work closely with product, architecture, operations, and business stakeholders

Manage competing priorities and scope while maintaining delivery timelines

Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

Technical Lead is a senior, hands-on engineering leader responsible for designing, building, and supporting highly available, scalable, and resilient backend systems within a fast-paced fintech/trading environment

This role requires deep technical expertise, strong cloud experience, and the ability to lead by example while managing complex production systems and mentoring engineering teams

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technologist with a strategic mindset who thrives in high-pressure environments, actively participates in incident management, and drives continuous improvement across architecture, performance, reliability, and security

Lead the design, development, and support of backend systems using modern distributed architectures

Build and maintain highly available, scalable, and resilient services critical to trading and financial platforms

Provide hands-on development and code-level leadership across services, APIs, and middleware

Guide architectural decisions, design patterns, and technology selection aligned with business needs

Strong backend engineering expertise with deep AWS cloud experience

Proficiency in .NET (C#), microservices, middleware, and API-based architectures

Experience with Kafka, PostgreSQL, and distributed messaging systems

Strong understanding of modern frameworks, libraries, and design patterns

Proven experience designing high-availability, low-latency, resilient distributed systems

7–10+ years of professional software engineering experience

Proven ability to lead as a hands-on technical leader, not solely a people manager

Experience mentoring engineers and setting technical direction

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to operate under pressure

Work closely with product, architecture, operations, and business stakeholders

Manage competing priorities and scope while maintaining delivery timelines

Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards, practices, and processes

Hybrid work model with mandatory onsite presence

Candidates must be local to or willing to work onsite in Texas, Fort Mill (SC), or San Diego (CA)

Preferred

Front-end experience with Angular is a plus but not required

Prior experience in financial services, trading, or fintech environments is strongly preferred

Bonus experience with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring/observability, and auxiliary services
